9 - 11 a.m.  | Alumni Breakfast and Hiking at Mohonk Preserve (Note: Mohonk Preserve is a property separate from Mohonk Mountain House)

Three hiking options will be included, for hikers of varying levels of experience. Leaving from the West Trapps trailhead, a mild, one-mile hike will be led through the Trapps Mountain Hamlet. This interpretive hike provides lots of opportunities to learn about the natural and human history of the Gunks, ending at the Van Leuven cabin, which is the only remaining house from this 19th-century hamlet.

A moderate three-mile hike will go up "the backside" of Bonticou Crag (at the Springfarm Trailhead). This moderate hike leads to the top of beautiful rocky crag that overlooks the Hudson Valley in all directions.

A strenuous three-mile hike will go up the rock scramble of Bonticou Crag (at the Springfarm Trailhead). This strenuous hike (which requires much in the way of upper-body strength) leads to the top of beautiful rocky crag that overlooks the Hudson Valley in all directions.

Shuttles will bring participants to the the respective trailheads and will bring participants back to campus. Note that as a special treat, the two hikes up Bonticou Crag will be done in conjunction with the annual Sociology Department hike - which will provide an opportunity to interact with current New Paltz students.

All hikers should wear appropriate shoes and hikers going up Bonticou should definitely bring some water and probably some snacks.

Cost: $12 Adult/Teen, Child (age 12 or under) free - Includes food, beverages, hiking, and shuttle access.
Breakfast catered by Main Street Bistro at the Preserve's Visitor Center, conference room; shuttle available from campus to the Preserve. Hikes depart approximately 9:45 to 10:30 a.m. guided by experienced faculty, staff, and alumni hikers (contact Alumni Relations if you'd like to lead a group!). Advance registration required for this limited-space activity. Register now!

Noon - 7 p.m. | Athletics & Wellness Center pre-registered alumni/guest-pass access**
