| Jesús Cardona was born in 1950 in Dorado, Puerto Rico. He studied art at the Escuelas de Artes Gráficas, where he began his career as a designer of posters. He began working at the Taller de Gráfica of the Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña with José Rosa and Luis Alonso as an assistant., but soon was producing his own posters with a decided sense of humor.
