Adam
Hi! My name is Adam(he/his). I am a senior here at New Paltz, and I am double majoring in Geography with a concentration in Urban Planning as well as History. This is my second year at the Center for Student Success, and I will be working as a Peer Writing Consultant. Writing is a passion of mine, and one of the reasons I joined the Center was the vision that I could spark that passion in someone else as well. Writing is truly an all-encompassing discipline that is useful in all walks of life, from college and beyond. When I'm not working or in class, I like to ride my bike along the Rail Trail and catch all of the movies New Paltz Cinema has to offer. I am looking forward to working with everyone!

Hi! My name is Alyssa (she/her/hers) and I’m a senior majoring in Adolescent Education with a concentration in English, a minor in Creative Writing, and a member of the Honors Program at New Paltz! I chose to join the Writers’ Studio to share my passion for writing and helping others. As a future educator, I take pride in helping students strengthen their writing abilities so that they can succeed in any field of work they choose to enter. For me, writing has always been a form of self-expression, helping others speak their mind in unique ways. I look forward to meeting everyone and working alongside all the different writers at New Paltz! :)

Hi everyone! My name is Brina (she/her) and I am a junior history major, with a minor in creative writing. I joined the Writer's Studio because I think words are important. If used thoughtfully, our words can hold so much power, and I'm excited to help you harness that power. Academically, I am interested in Jewish diaspora, Soviet emigration, and multilingual writers. Outside of class, I love reading novels about emotionally distressed women, Shabbat dinners, and going on baby hikes with my friends. I look forward to meeting you!

Hi there! My name is Evie (she/her/hers) and I am a sophomore majoring in Adolescent English Education. I am so excited to be starting as a peer writing consultant this fall! During my free time, I’m usually hanging out with friends, reading, or watching Netflix. I’ve always loved writing essays, along with helping friends improve their writing process and expand upon their style. I’m eager to bring out my peers’ confidence, which I believe is the key to a good paper! I’m really looking forward to learning from my peers. I have always had a passion for writing and truly believe that words have the ability to connect people in extraordinary ways. I joined the Writers’ Studio because of my love for English and for the opportunity to interact with more of my peers. I love to read and engage in genuine conversations with people. One of my long term goals is to work for the United Nations because of my passion for collaborating and working with different kinds of individuals. Hi New Paltz! My name is Joñi (she/her/hers) I’m a junior Theater Design/Technology major from Brooklyn, minoring in film studies and studio art! I love storytelling and art in all its many forms, whether it be a play or a painting. I aspire to work in entertainment telling stories that matter through my visual designs. In my free time, catch me cozying up to a movie or backstage in Mckenna Theater. Hello! My name is Kailas and my pronouns are she/they! I am a junior at SUNY New Paltz with a double major in International Relations and Asian Studies, as well as a member of the Honors Program. I will be working as a Peer Writing Consultant at the CSS for this semester due to my love of writing as a medium for anything you want it to be. I believe that writing is one of the greatest methods of communication, as it can bridge nearly every divide and is a pertinent tool you can use in college and beyond!
