For the past 14 years, John has worked in the Human Services field within the Foster Care and Juvenile Justice Systems in New York State. For the past 8 years, he has provided direct supervision, coaching, and training to direct support professionals and has held titles of Youth Counselor 1, Youth Facility Assistant Director 1, Youth Facility Director 1, Assistant Regional Director, and Youth Assistant Facility Director 4 for the NYS Office of Children and Family Services. As Facility Director at Red Hook Residential Center, Josh led his team to becoming the first OCFS facility to receive Sanctuary Certification and American Correctional Association Accreditation, meeting 100% of the standards. He believes that the work of Direct Support Professionals should be recognized and is committed to supporting those who support others.
