Mayor Kamal Johnson grew up in Hudson. As a child, Kamal’s family was directly impacted by poverty, addiction, and incarceration. These experiences influenced his work as a community and youth advocate and his vision for a city that is safe and equitable for all. Kamal was elected to serve as the Mayor of Hudson, NY, in 2019. He made history as the first black Mayor of Hudson, NY, and the youngest Mayor, at 34 years old. He is currently serving his third term as Mayor.
