Peggy Dewall and Joe Warnock met in George O'Dell's infamous fall '67 Chemistry class. Peggy survived, Joe didn't, and by the summer of '68 he was in the U.S. Army. They stayed in contact through letters and leaves. The couple was engaged just before he left for his "all expenses paid" tour of Southeast Asia in June of '69.
Peggy took course overloads while Joe was gone and graduated with a bachelors of science in Liberal Arts in June of 1970. Joe returned in August, and they were married before reporting to his next duty station: Fort Carson, Colorado.
Joe and Peggy WarnockAfter Joe's discharge in 1972, they returned to New Paltz. Joe finished his bachelors of science in art education, graduating in '74, and Peggy obtained her certification in secondary social studies.
Currently, Peggy and Joe live in Kansas, where Joe teaches third grade and Peggy teaches middle school science.
