History of NYCAS and Asian Studies at New Paltz
The 2019 conference represents a half-century of New Paltz's commitment to NYCAS. NYCAS has been hosted at SUNY New Paltz in 1968, 1973, 1980, 1986, 1993, 1998, 2005, 2012.
Furthermore, two major awards given every year at NYCAS are named after New Paltz Professors: the Marleigh Grayer Ryan Undergraduate and Graduate Student Prize for Outstanding Paper and the Ron Knapp prize for service to the discipline of Asian Studies. These two awards are a testament to the strong ties between NYCAS and New Paltz and our ongoing commitment to Asian Studies.
