Campus Perimeter LED Lighting
Most of the existing exterior lights on campus will be converted from high-pressure sodium to a more sustainable LED-type fixture. The current fixtures are over 40 years old, use outdated technology, and are much less energy efficient than the LED-type fixture. The new fixtures, with their enhanced lumens, will also enhance pedestrian safety around the campus.
The campus engineer is working on the specifics to develop for the last phase of fixture replacements. Currently the campus has taken advantage of the incentive offered by Central Hudson and had some of the current fixtures swapped out for LED's.
