Remote-Only Faculty Office Hours

Dear Faculty,
As all of us adjust to the remote learning environment, we know that students' ability to reach their faculty for assistance is even more important than under normal circumstances. However, in order to meet the directives from the state to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, "office hours" for the remainder of the semester will be conducted remotely. Students have been directed to watch for messages from their instructors about their remote office hour plans. Among the approaches you might consider are the following:
- Email students a sign up sheet with dates/times when you are available to visit with them by phone.
- Announce the windows of time each week when you will be available for office hours:
- via live-time email (be sure to remind students that you may be emailing other students during that window of time, so they may have to wait a minute or two for your reply)
- via Bb Collaborate or WebEx (then respond to students as they log in to those sessions).
