Reopening FAQ of the day
Are there special requirements for students coming to campus from out-of-state?
Yes, out-of-state students must take additional steps to ensure that we can safely welcome them to campus for the fall 2020 semester.
Students who are entering New York from one of the states on the advisory list designated by New York will be required to fill out two forms:
  • The first mandatory form is required by New York State for anyone entering the state from states or territories that are experiencing recent, significant, community-wide spread of COVID-19
  • The second mandatory form is required by the SUNY New Paltz Student Health Service for students who are coming to campus after traveling internationally or to states identified in the state travel advisory
This is in addition to the requirement that students who have traveled to areas identified in the advisory must quarantine for 14 days prior to coming to campus.

The College's fall 2020 reopening plan is highly detailed and dense, and our corresponding list of FAQs runs to more than 10,000 words (and counting!). In an effort to make this very important information more digestible for campus community members, we're highlighting questions and answers in this newsletter, one per day, as the fall semester approaches.
Please note: We are working to update and add FAQs as planning continues and this situation evolves. We will prioritize sharing the most current information in this space.

Spring 2020 capstones and theses

With just weeks to go until the fall semester, we're taking advantage of a few more opportunities to give this exceptional scholarship and creative work its due.

“Expression through clothing and fashion is a crucial part of identity. Transgender and gender non-conforming (gnc) people should have a resource that is safe and accessible, giving them the means to express themselves in a way that fits how they identify. Ves is a proposal for an organization that uses a repurposed city bus as a free, traveling clothing closet for trans and gnc people. Ves includes interactive web prototypes for both desktop and mobile, social media marketing materials, and promotional QR code stickers. The goal is for trans and gnc people to feel welcomed and safe in a type of space that often excludes and others them, while also shedding light on a subject most cisgender people tend to be unaware of.”
