Research and Travel Awards

Connect With Us

There are two programs on campus that fund graduate student travel and research experiences. These funds are typically used for students to travel to give a presentation at a scholarly conference, but they can also be used to fund a trip to an archive or other research activities.

I. David Lavallee Student Travel Fund Scholarship Opportunity

The Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs is pleased to announce the availability of funding to support travel by returning undergraduate and graduate students to present, exhibit, or perform their scholarly or creative work at regional and national conferences. This opportunity is available through the David Lavallee Student Travel Fund, named in honor of David Lavallee, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs of SUNY New Paltz from 1999-2009.

Applications for this scholarship can be found in AcademicWorks. To apply, interested students should log on through my.newpaltz.edu, and select Money/Apply for Scholarship Opportunities. Complete a General Application, and then select the Opportunities tab to select and apply for the David Lavallee Student Travel Fund opportunity. Applications will be accepted through April 15, 2020.
