One core skillset, countless applications
A professional communicator uses all the tools at their disposal, from physical media to cutting-edge digital technologies, to convey information with clarity and intent. Whether you aspire to work in business, education, government, the nonprofit sector or any number of other fields, firms large and small are looking to hire leaders with sophisticated and modern strategic communication skills.
Designed with the busy professional in mind
The MA in Strategic Communications at SUNY New Paltz can be completed in two years or on a part-time schedule at your own pace. It is a “low residency” program: most coursework can be completed online, but three on-campus weekends per semester give students access to campus resources and opportunities to collaborate with professors and a cohort of peers. No GRE required!
Dedicated to positive change
Our program prepares students for entry into a wide range of professional fields. We also offer special electives and concentrations focusing on sustainable practices and nonprofit communication, designed for those seeking careers that make the world a better place.
