Metabolist Teapot Set

Ceramic artist Stephen Ladin made Metabolist Teapot Set as part of a series of modular slip-cast pieces influenced by the modular designs of the mid-20th century Japanese architects known as “the Metabolists.”  While the Metabolist teapot and cup are fashioned in a skewed geometric design, they are still functional. Laden received his MFA from SUNY New Paltz and currently works in Kingston, New York. His modular casting process is described in an article entitled "Variation through Modular Casting," Ceramics Monthly (August 1980, vol 28, issue 6, pp 52-54).
