SUNY New Paltz is working to provide a safe, in-person experience for students in fall 2021, consistent with continued progress against COVID-19 in New York State.
We are holding most classes in person, with increased residence hall capacity and expanded campus events, programs and dining.
As we return to a more traditional campus experience, the safety of our students, faculty and staff remains our top priority. SUNY requires all students with a campus presence to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or to be approved for a medical or religious exemption. All state employees, including New Paltz faculty and staff, must either be vaccinated or test weekly, per order of the Governor.
We are conducting weekly surveillance testing of all unvaccinated students, faculty and staff, and are also testing our vaccinated population regularly (about every five weeks), to detect any new cases and quickly initiate contact tracing protocols to prevent further spread.
All members of our community, vaccinated and unvaccinated, must wear masks in indoor spaces on campus, in accordance with the latest CDC recommendations.
