Vice President for Enrollment Management
Stella Turk leads Enrollment Management, the division of the University responsible for recruiting, retaining and graduating a student body that is the right fit for New Paltz. The Division oversees the entire enrollment process from initial inquiry, financial aid and billing, registration, student persistence and progression through degree conferral for undergraduate and graduate students.
Consistent with the priorities of the University and working with the Enrollment Management Division, Vice President Turk has developed a strategic enrollment plan with initiatives and performance indicators to build enrollment capacity while engaging with university leadership to maintain high standards for student success at New Paltz and beyond.
In her role as Vice President, Turk oversees the Office of Admission, Admission Technology & CRM, Enrollment Events and Special Projects , the Office of Veteran & Military Services, Student Accounts, and Student Financial Services, the Office of Records & Registration, the Center for Student Success, the Scholars’ Mentorship Program, Special Sessions & Partner Programs, Accelerate to Completion through Engagement (ACE) Program, and Wooster Hall Student Services Desk.
Since 1994, Turk has held positions of increasing responsibility at SUNY New Paltz. She served as Director of the Speech-Language & Hearing Center for more than a decade; coordinated the Deaf Studies Program from 2010-13; developed the Post Baccalaureate Program in Communication Disorders (2010) , served as Associate Dean in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences from 2007-17; and has also taught courses as a faculty member for 23 year and former Chair of the Department of Communication Disorders.
She was named Registrar in 2018 after a competitive national search and has provided leadership and direction in helping the Office of Records & Registration support students, faculty and staff on campus through careful maintenance of permanent academic records and schedules of classes. She advanced to the new position of Executive Director of Student Services in fall 2022.
Turk holds a Doctor of Audiology degree from Arizona School of Health Sciences, a Master of Science degree in Audiology from Brooklyn College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Disorders and Education, also from Brooklyn College.
