The Public Art Committee (PAC) at SUNY New Paltz is dedicated to enhancing the campus environment through public art. We believe that art has the power to inspire, challenge, and enrich the lives of our campus community and visitors. As such, we are committed to creating a visually stimulating campus that is consistent with the mission of SUNY New Paltz to offer “a vibrant intellectual/creative public forum which reflects and celebrates the diversity of our society and encourages and supports active participation in scholarly and artistic activity.”
Our committee is the first point of contact and a consultative body for art proposals in public spaces on campus. We welcome proposals from students, faculty, staff, alumni, as well as artists and donors from the wider community. PAC also works to encourage art on campus by proactively seeking out artists and collaborators for new projects that will enrich campus culture.
