What is an accredited college?
Accredited colleges are those that have earned, or are candidates for, accreditation by organization(s) recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). CHEA-recognized organizations grant regional or institutional accreditation as well as programmatic accreditation and national faith- and career-related accreditation. New Paltz also accepts credit from institutions accredited by the New York State Board of Regents and the Commissioner of Education and from independent non-profit and proprietary institutions with Board of Regents authorization to award degrees.
