In the dynamic realm of entrepreneurship, the connections we cultivate can define the trajectory of our journey. As we delve into the concept of intentional networking, challenging the established norm, our exploration becomes intertwined with the craft of forging impactful teams and swift collaborations. Season's Pause: Nurturing Connections in the Investor's Journey

Now that we are in the Holiday Season, the theme of this December newsletter is very appropriate and applies equally well to investors - take time to sign off and take a break. It reminds me of the active investing years of Fund I and II of the HV Startup Fund. We actually headed this advice twice a year. Once in July and once in December. 

We did take some time off since we did not hold our regular meetings with pitches from local Hudson Valley entrepreneurs. But we still gathered together as investors, with a different focus - relationship building. During July (or sometimes August), we would gather at a nice venue or at a member’s home and enjoy our Annual Summer Barbeque. For several years this was catered by The Grille Wagon, located in Pleasant Valley. My favorite is the beef brisket! 

In December, we would gather to celebrate the Holiday Season, again just to build relationships. We met in various local venues or at a member’s home. 

So, I would modify the theme for this month slightly. Yes - take time to sign off and take a break. But it is also a great time of year to take a break from our “production” focus and shift some of our time to a “relationship” focus.
