Lara Palombi came to SUNY New Paltz as a transfer student from SUNY Geneseo. She hails from Bronx, NY. She received the Robert Kyncl '95 & Luz Avila Kyncl '96 STEM Scholarship. On campus, she works in the 3D print lab as part of the Hudson Valley Additive Manufacturing Center and is working on a research project regarding the relationship between external temperature and metabolic rate of two red-tailed hawks. Lara worked on an olive farm in Portugal during the summer and has hopes of developing an application for farmers to categorize their olive trees. She is working towards a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Computer Science at SUNY New Paltz with an anticipated graduation year of 2023.
