G. Angela Henry has enjoyed careers in education, international development, nonprofit leadership, executive search, and acting. They have all informed each other, as has the education and world travel she has been blessed and privileged to experience.
The eldest of four children, with all the characteristics of a first-born girl, Henry’s propensity for defending siblings and friends indicated a legal career. Her demand as a champion babysitter suggested a calling as a teacher. Her grace as a dancer and musical gifts indicated a bent towards the performing arts. It was a radio interview and a staff meeting with herself that opened Henry’s eyes to what she was born to do and, in fact, had been doing all her life. Henry was schooled by two generations of social justice activists, along with Ethical Culture Fieldston School, Juilliard, Tufts University (Bachelor of Arts) and Harvard (Master of Education) as well as camping through 48 states and the Maritime Provinces, living in West Africa, and visits to 31 countries on 5 continents. She lives in Hyde Park with her husband, Bryan, a retired Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) police captain, drummer, and visual artist.
