Katie Stoeckeler is a multifaceted entrepreneur whose business endeavors include being a teacher, author, and fine jewelry designer. She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from SUNY New Paltz and a Master’s in Education, with concentrations in special education and literacy from Mount Saint Mary College. Stoeckeler is currently deepening her personal and professional mindfulness practices by completing her 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Stone Wave Yoga and becoming a fully certified teacher of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction through the Mindfulness Center at Brown University.
Raised in Ellenville, Stoeckeler now lives in Piermont, New York and owns a mindfulness studio, Peace in Piermont (PiP). At PiP, Katie teaches children, adults and families ways of de-stressing and living in the present moment. After noticing the impact of her teachings and feeling inspired to share them with a broader audience, Stoeckeler began creating a book series with her dear friend, artist, and fellow SUNY New Paltz alumna, Sara Martin '09 (Visual Arts: Graphic Design). The Give Your Brain A Bath Book series aims to teach readers both the importance of practicing self-care and various methods of doing so to increase self-awareness and one’s ability to self-regulate. So far, she’s published three books: Let’s Sit Down and Meditate, How Yoga Saved Christmas, and Let’s Have an Attitude of Gratitude. Stoeckeler is actively working to make self-care more accessible by expanding her books into a television series and by developing an elementary-based curriculum. In her spare time, Stoeckeler enjoys reading, catching up with friends, going for walks with her pup, Marshmallow, and traveling with her family!
