Laurie Spiegel is a proud SUNY alumna, having earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics from SUNY New Paltz in 1975 and a Master of Science degree in industrial engineering & operations research from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1977. After graduation, Spiegel spent the next 40 years in the telecommunications industry, working in software systems and operations across engineering, economics, consulting, and marketing.
Now retired, Spiegel is as engaged as ever applying her experience, skills, and passion to help others. She was recently named to the Board of Directors of FORCE: Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered, whose goal is education and advocacy related to hereditary cancers. Spiegel is also treasurer of the Theta Phi New Paltz Sorority Alumnae Association, and a vice president at Temple B’nai Or in Morristown, N.J. In her spare time, she has studied art history and enjoys her membership at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and she can be found biking, hiking, and snowshoeing around town in Florham Park, N.J.
