Physician Associate
CityMD Urgent Care
Camille-Ashley Chavez serves as a physician associate (PA) at CityMD Urgent Care, the leading urgent care company in the New York metro area. Chavez graduated from SUNY New Paltz in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in biology and a minor in French. During her time in New Paltz, Chavez studied abroad in France to learn the French language and culture, served as a medical volunteer in Nicaragua through Global Medical Brigades, and was the assistant director of Health Crusaders (a summer fitness program that served the inner-city youth of Poughkeepsie). Chavez then pursued a master’s degree in physician associate studies at Marist College where she served as the vice president of her class.
Through these paramount experiences, Chavez developed a singular approach to patient care with an emphasis on empathy, education and equity-based, socio-economically-informed treatment. With the goal of providing low-income communities with access to quality medical care, Chavez practices in several CityMD branches throughout Queens - serving as a principal healthcare provider for the majority of her patients. As a physician’s associate, Chavez’s responsibilities include diagnosing illnesses, developing and managing treatment plans, prescribing medications, and performing procedures. Chavez also serves as a peer mentor for high school students in her former high school, Manhattan Business Academy.
