STEM Instructional Design Associate

Rachel Marra is employed as an instructional design associate for technical STEM courses at eCornell, a division of Cornell focused on online education programs. Rachel’s experience teaching and designing undergraduate Astronomy courses along with her experience conducting research in a doctoral program at New Mexico State University aptly prepared her for this position. Key responsibilities for Rachel’s position at eCornell include assisting in developing innovative learning assets, working with complex and technical source material, and closely collaborating with Cornell faculty. In addition to other responsibilities, Rachel participates in designing courses for a National Education Equity Lab (NEEL) program which allow students in underserved high schools to earn college credit to expand access to higher education. Rachel graduated from SUNY New Paltz in 2016 with a dual degree in Physics and Astronomy. During her time at New Paltz Rachel was an active member of CSTEP and AMP, she worked as a physics and calculus tutor, and wrote and presented shows at the campus planetarium.
