Rachel Stowell is a DevOps Engineer at IDEXX Laboratories, a leader in the pet healthcare industry. Serving under the Companion Animal Group, Stowell creates cloud infrastructure to support software development teams as they write operating systems for various hematology and chemistry analyzers. These instruments are used in veterinary practices and reference laboratories globally, improving the health and well-being of pets throughout the world.
In 2016, Stowell graduated from SUNY New Paltz with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics with a minor in computer science. She continued her education at SUNY New Paltz, receiving a Master of Science in computer science in 2018. She served as a teaching assistant in the Department of Computer Science during her graduate studies. She began her career in software development in 2019 with a local business intelligence software company known as Exago. During her time at Exago, Stowell worked in customer support until serving as the company's first DevOps Engineer, building out their cloud infrastructure, software release process and automation coverage. A lifelong New Paltz resident, Stowell is passionate about connecting with New Paltz students and helping them find their way in the software industry.
