Deck Sound, “Kimberly Akimbo” on Broadway, Local One Stagehand
Renee Levine Furphy is currently a member of the stagehand union IATSE (International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees) Local One out of New York. She specializes in audio. Her first job out of college was traveling with the Big Apple Circus as the sound assistant. Since then, Furphy has been a part of the audio department for numerous Broadway tours including “Elf,” “Hello Dolly” starring Sally Struthers, “Matilda,” “Cinderella,” and many others. She has worked on 18 different Broadway shows including “Kinky Boots,” “My Fair Lady,” “Once on this Island,” “The Music Man,” “For Colored Girls…Enuf,” and is currently the A2 deck audio person and union steward at the Booth Theater on “Kimberly Akimbo.” Furphy received a Bachelor of Arts degree.
