Sandra J. Jackson, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, is the owner of Express Employment Professionals, a full-service workforce management organization. Express is dedicated to helping people in the Hudson Valley thrive and businesses grow, by providing localized staffing solutions. Before becoming an entrepreneur, Jackson was vice president of diversity and employee engagement at Covanta Energy, the world’s leader in providing sustainable waste and energy solutions. During a career at Covanta spanning more than two decades, she has held progressively responsible roles in human resources and has helped Covanta navigate through changing organizational needs, in the areas of employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, mergers and acquisitions and leadership development.
Jackson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing from SUNY New Paltz, and a Master of Science degree in organizational development from Fordham University. She is a senior certified human resource professional. Jackson serves on the Grant Review Committee for the Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley, and the HR Committee for the Grace Smith House Board of Directors in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., She is also a Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., an international service organization.
