Neurodiversity Affirming Therapist
Wraparound Services of the Hudson Valley's School for Achievement
Madison Brower grew up on Long Island, and found herself drawn to the Hudson Valley after attending college at SUNY New Paltz. Inspired by the Communication Disorders program, Madison took an introduction class and immediately found a desire to pursue Speech-Language Pathology as a career. She completed her bachelor’s degree in 2019, and decided to stay at New Paltz to complete her masters degree. Completing graduate school during the height of the pandemic, Madison found herself as a new clinician attempting to explore different professional areas of the field. After completing a clinician fellowship at a local center-based preschool for students with developmental disabilities, Madison decided to stay within the realm of pediatric communication disorders. She is a neurodiversity affirming therapist, currently practicing at Wraparound Services of the Hudson Valley's School for Achievement. Acknowledging and appreciating the differences in her clients completely informs her practice. Madison's desire to continue learning and unlearning antiquated ways of viewing disability is what drives her passion in this field.
Madison's collegiate years consisted of an undergraduate degree of Communication Disorders in '19 and Speech-Language Pathology in '21. During her time at New Paltz, Madison spent time coordinating the Honors Program's Peer Mentorship Program, as well as supervising other students at the Sojourner Truth Library. Madison strives to one day own her own practice, where she would love to focus on adolescents and adults with developmental disabilities.
