Mary Jose's professional journey reflects resilience and dedication, shaped by her pursuit of legal excellence and commitment to community service. Graduating from SUNY New Paltz in 1997 with a degree in International Relations and minors in Anthropology and Asian Studies, she embarked on a path that led her to Rutgers School of Law - Newark, where she excelled and earned a Juris Doctorate in 2002. Notably, her editorial role at the Rutgers Computer and Technology Law Journal underscored her early leadership and scholarly contributions.

Entering the legal field during a tumultuous period post-9/11, Ms. Jose encountered the challenges of securing employment. Undeterred, she leveraged her entrepreneurial spirit and in 2004 established her own law practice in Brooklyn. This endeavor proved pivotal, allowing her to cultivate a diverse skill set while serving small business owners and first-time homeowners who sought affordable legal representation.

Throughout her 22-year career, Ms. Jose's professional trajectory has been marked by a commitment to social impact and legal expertise. Her tenure as Deputy General Counsel for Safe Horizon coincided with the organization's ascendancy as a foremost advocate for victims of Domestic Violence and Child Abuse. This role not only deepened her legal acumen but also affirmed her dedication to advocating for vulnerable populations.

Currently serving as Associate General Counsel for One Brooklyn Health System, Inc. Ms. Jose continues to excel in corporate law, applying her extensive experience to navigate complex legal landscapes within healthcare. Her role underscores her proficiency in providing strategic counsel and ensuring compliance within a dynamic organizational framework.

Beyond her legal career, Ms. Jose remains actively engaged in community service through her membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Her involvement with the Nassau Alumnae Chapter reflects a lifelong commitment to advancing social justice and empowering underserved communities in Valley Stream, NY, where she resides.
