Swami Mendieta is an engineer and proud first-generation college graduate. During her time at the university, Mendieta was actively involved as a board member of Women In Science and Engineering (WISE) and participated in on-campus organizations such as the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. After falling in love with the Hudson Valley during her time in New Paltz, she decided to return to the area shortly after completing her studies.
Mendieta began her career at onsemi (formerly a GlobalFoundries site) as a process technician, thriving on the challenges of the night shift and developing an understanding of semiconductor manufacturing. Her journey continued as a Wet Etch Process Engineer, where she delved into optimizing etch processes and solving complex equipment issues. Now transitioning into an equipment engineer role at onsemi, Mendieta looks forward to further enhancing equipment reliability, quality, and performance.
Outside of work, Mendieta finds joy in balancing her technical career with her artistic passions. Her love for learning leads her to dive into a mix of hobbies, from perfecting a new recipe to trying her hand at painting or crocheting. This blend of technical and creative pursuits not only adds a splash of fun and creativity to her life but also enriches her approach to problem-solving and innovation.
