There are several opportunities available for students to present research they have conducted with faculty members or through independent studies. Several associations hold annual conferences in the region including the Northeastern Anthropological Association (please hyperlink the following website to the phrase Northeastern Arnthropological Associaiton - http://www.neaa.org/), the New York State Archaeological Council and the New York State Archaeological Association (link in the following - http://nysarchaeology.org/conference/) and the Bioarchaeologists' Northeast Regional Dialogue (link in http://www.albany.edu/~sh518871/bnrd.html).
Upcoming meetings include:
The 101st conference of the NYSAA will be hosted by the Adirondack Chapter, NYSAA April 21-23, 2017 at the Fort William Henry Hotel and Conference Center, Lake George, NY.
The 56th Annual Meeting of the Northeastern Anthropological Association will be held at Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, New York, April 22 through 23, 2016.
These are good events to attend as they are close by and provide the chance for students to gain experience presenting their research.
Larger academic associations that hold annual meetings include the American Association of Physical Anthropologists (link in physanth.org), the Society for American Archaeology (link in saa.org), and the American Anthropological Association (link in aaanet.org). Our students have presented at these venues as well and are great opportunities for students.
