Undergraduate Plans of Study
Undergraduate Plans of Study
The Department of Art offers three plans of study:
- Bachelor of Science in Visual Arts (BS) is a 54-credit plan of study with a required minor.
- Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts (BA) requires 48 credits in the major. It is commonly used by students from other departments on campus whose career trajectories require some art studio knowledge.
- Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art (BFA) is a professional degree that requires 81 credits in the major. Entrance into a BFA program is by portfolio and interview after completion of the Foundation core. The BFA provides a great depth of knowledge, and the plan of study contains required courses appropriate to each discipline:
All freshmen and transfer students are admitted to the Bachelor of Science in Visual Arts plan for all programs except Graphic Design and Visual Arts Education.
