Matthew Friday
Department of Art Graduate Coordinator Matthew Friday’s collaborative work was featured in the exhibition “Eco-Urgency: If not now, When?” at Lehman College in Bronx, New York; in the group exhibition “Eco-Urgency: Now or Never” at Wave Hill in the Bronx; and in Kunsthalle Exnergasse, “A Knot in the Throat: Foraging for a Vanishing Present” in Vienna, Austria.

Anat Shiftan
Professor Anat Shiftan presented "The Garden," a solo exhibition with themes of the garden expressed in three-dimensional still life and centerpieces, at the Clay Art Center in Port Chester, New York from March 31 to May 9 this year.
Shiftan exhibited her works concurrently with "Object/Image: In the Space Between Thoughts and Things" featuring new Paltz ceramic students.

Jamie Bennett
Professor Emeritus Jamie Bennet was awarded the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award by the Society of North American Goldsmiths (SNAG). This is the highest honor that SNAG can bestow upon an individual and is reserved for leaders in the field who made significant contributions to contemporary metalsmithing throughout their careers. Bennett directed the New Paltz Metal Program from 1986-2014. Read the full announcement from SNAG.

An essay by Professor Myra Mimlitsch-Gray is included in the book "This Present Moment: Crafting a Better World," published by the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, D.C., in association with D. Giles Limited, London. The book marks the 50th anniversary of the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s Renwick Gallery, the nation’s preeminent center for the enjoyment of American craft. The book accompanies an exhibition featuring work in the permanent collection of the Renwick Gallery, including Mimlitsch-Gray's work, "Sugar Bowl and Creamer."
