An essay by Reva Wolf, “The Interconnections of Satire and Censorship in Goya’s Prints and Drawings,” is included in the interdisciplinary volume Changing Satire: Transformations and Continuities in Europe, 1600-1830, edited by Cecilia Rosengren, Per Sivefors, and Rikard Wingård, and published in April 2022 by Manchester University Press.
Wolf also gave a talk, “The Compasses Embodied: Hands as Evidence in Goya’s Portraits—Problems and Possibilities” in the January 2022 online international congress, On Portraiture: Theory, Practice and Fiction—From Francisco de Holanda to Susan Sontag, organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lisbon. Associate Professor Keely Heuer and SUNY New Paltz President Donald P. Christian
Keely Heuer named Mentor of the Year
Keely Heuer, associate professor of art history, has been named faculty Mentor of the Year at SUNY New Paltz for 2022! Heuer earned the distinction for her work with the Art History Association student group. Since 2019, Heuer and the AHA students have organized an undergraduate art history symposium, which has grown from a regional event into an international showcase for student research, attracting 80 students from around the world in 2022. In addition, Heuer has supervised numerous honors theses and SURE grants. Her popular On-Site Programs in Italy and Greece have given her the opportunity to mentor SUNY New Paltz students abroad in the study of ancient art history. Read more here.
