Duties: The State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz invites applications for a Program Manager in the Institute for Disaster Mental health (IDMH). The Program Manager’s primary responsibility will be to supervise the grant projects and other funded initiatives that IDMH engages in locally, regionally, and internationally. Given the nature of these programs, the staff member hired for this position will need to maintain a flexible work schedule and the ability to travel, including internationally. The Program Manager will supervise staff and student workers assigned to various projects. The Program Manager will also be responsible for co-directing our annual conference. Additionally, this position will be responsible for representing IDMH with key stakeholders and the community at large.

Duties for this role include but are not limited to:
• Supervise program and support staff, including planning, assigning, and reviewing work in support of funded programs
• Interview, train, and make recommendations concerning the evaluation, promotion, and termination of program and support staff
• Provides first line liaison to department partners, local community organizations, and the general public at community engagement events, including attendance at events and serving on local committees on behalf of the department
• Manage the implementation of all funded project activities
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and/or yearly programmatic reports
• Prepare the submission of grant applications and programmatic proposals
• Monitor current program budgets and the development of program budgets for future grants and programs
• Co-direct the annual IDMH Conference, including but not limited to creation and management of budgets, timelines, logistics, and oversight of support staff
• Coordinate special event programming and programs related to philanthropic activity
• Participate in designated research activities, including but not limited to reviewing literature, designing research protocol, implementing focus groups, and analysis of data

Qualifications: Required:
• Master's degree in Mental health Counseling, Psychology, or a related mental health field
• Prior disaster mental health experience
• Proficiency in managing intricate projects and effectively handling competing priorities
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team
• Previous experience in delivering training sessions or teaching engagements
