Duties: The State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz and Office of Development and Alumni Relations invites applications for the new role of Stewardship & Scholarships Coordinator. Reporting to the Associate Director of Stewardship & Scholarships, the Stewardship & Scholarships Coordinator serves as an integral part of a highly successful Development team, whose primary mission is to cultivate new, existing, internal, and external partnerships to advance fundraising goals that match University initiatives and needs with donor interest.

The Stewardship & Scholarships Coordinator is responsible for providing operational support for the Development team’s management of SUNY New Paltz Foundation scholarships and for production of stewardship reports that support and inform the work of the entire Development team. The individual will assist with the stewardship and scholarship program activities to ensure processes and procedures are in place for increased donor stewardship and that scholarship audit requirements are met. The Stewardship & Scholarships Coordinator will continuously evaluate the Foundation’s scholarship program identifying opportunities for growth and excellence, while improving the student recipient and donor experience. The position is multi-faceted, requiring the ability to move easily from one task to another in a fast-paced office environment with time-sensitive projects.

Duties & Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
• Assist with award-related data management, tracking and report production for scholarship programs, keeping applications/materials accurate and updated
• Aid in the development and execution of both targeted and campus-wide scholarship and stewardship communications utilizing various media
• Troubleshoot and provide informational and technical assistance for both students in the application and awarding process and for scholarship committees in the review processes
• Support post-award activities by assisting with award reporting, expenditure tracking and monitoring, coordinating stipends and travel paperwork, and award cycle management
• Assist with stewardship and scholarship related events as needed, in particular the annual Scholarship Reception
• Prepare and circulate written and digital communications for the Office of Development & Alumni Relations for internal and external constituencies, including but not limited to: endowment letters, tax letters, impact reports, recognition signage and lists, and other stewardship publications
• Proofread and edit Development team and stewardship materials and reports as needed
• Work with the supervisor and other administrators to create/maintain essential documentation related to systems and processes in CRM (Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge NXT) and scholarship software (Blackbaud Award Management)
• Support the general operational needs of the Development team as assigned by the supervisor and senior leadership in Development and Alumni Relations
• Participate in user conferences and trainings, online and in person, to remain up to date with industry best practices, software changes, et al
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications: Required:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Excellent technical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Excellent organization, time-management, and oral/written communication skills
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals
• The ability to work independently and as a member of a dynamic professional team
• Ability to multi-task and meet conflicting deadlines

Preferred:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Communications, Information Management, or related fields
• Professional experience in a development office and/or university setting
• Experience with the following applications: Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT, Blackbaud Award Management, BrightSpace, Banner, ARGOS
