Duties: The State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz welcomes applications for the role of Career Readiness Advisor in the Career Resource Center. Reporting to the Director of the Career Resource Center, the Career Readiness Advisor will be responsible for supporting students from the School of Business and the School of Science and Engineering with foundational career development activities. This role requires attention to detail, a friendly and open disposition, good communication skills, and an ability to engage with and establish a positive working rapport with students.

This is an on-site, temporary, part-time, 10-month role working through the academic year (August - May). The successful candidate can expect to work about 10 hours per week.

Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
• Meeting with students in-person and virtually to review resumes and cover letters
• Meeting with students to conduct mock interviews
• Documenting student advising sessions in Handshake
• Promoting the services provided by the Career Resource Center

Qualifications: Required:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Must be currently pursuing Master’s degree, MBA preferred
• The ability to promote and work in an inclusive and diverse environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
• Familiarity with Handshake, preferred
• A demonstrated interest in working with people in a client-facing environment
