Duties: The Chemistry Department at the State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in biochemistry to begin in the fall semester of 2025. Applicants should hold a PhD in chemistry or biochemistry and demonstrate a record of active, ongoing scholarship. Postdoctoral experience is preferred, and expertise in physical biochemistry is especially desirable.

Teaching duties include a 2-semester Biochemistry sequence with associated lab courses, and contributions to other courses within the Chemistry Department that align with the successful candidate's background. The candidate will also be expected to establish a research program in biochemistry with strong undergraduate participation, and to publish their work in peer-reviewed journals. Additionally, the position requires service to the Department and University which typically involves the advising of students and the participation in campus-wide committees. We seek candidates who will create a climate that helps attract and is inclusive of all students.

Qualifications: Required:
• PhD in Chemistry or Biochemistry; exceptional ABD candidates will be considered
• Record of ongoing Scholarship
