Duties: The State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science; with over 200 undergraduate majors and a sizable master’s program. This role has a start date of August 2025.
Successful candidates are expected to develop and teach core courses in the department and associated programs, as well as advanced courses in the candidates areas of expertise. It is also expected that the successful candidate will pursue research and scholarship as appropriate and advise students. We strongly encourage faculty to incorporate undergraduate and graduate students in research. We seek candidates who will create a climate that helps attract and is inclusive of all students, including students from historically underrepresented groups and students who have overcome personal challenges. We strongly encourage women and underrepresented minorities to apply.
Qualifications: Required:
• Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field. Candidates in all areas of computer science can apply. ABD in Computer Science or closely related discipline with a firm completion date prior to December 31, 2025, will also be considered.
• Strong commitment to teaching
• Excellent communication skills
