Duties: Instructional Media Services (IMS) at the State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz invites applications for the position of Evening Operations Coordinator. This is a 12-month, full-time, on-site position as a member of Instructional Media Service that supports campus classrooms and conference spaces and services. This person is responsible for conducting and supervising afternoon/evening departmental operations and providing customer support.

This position’s core work hours follow the SUNY New Paltz academic calendar. Afternoon and evening hours for Fall and Spring semesters; then shift to standard office hours for intersessions. Occasional weekends are required for conferences and special event support. Additionally, this position serves as backup support for departmental activities. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a learning mindset to work in a team-oriented environment. We are dedicated to supporting learning opportunities to enhance initiatives related to classroom technologies.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
• Conduct live production broadcast streams and lecture capture for events and academic activities.
• Provide technical training and assistance with the operation and use of audio-visual technologies and related software.
• Supervise student college work-study and temporary personnel in collaboration with Operations Coordinator. This involves screening, hiring, scheduling, approving time-sheets, training, and assigning tasks.
• Receive and respond to incoming trouble calls via tickets, email, or chat.
• Create articles and media content for campus knowledge-base.
• Administrator of campus video platforms and connected capture devices.
• Assists with AV equipment maintenance, installations, and upgrades.

Qualifications: Required:
• Bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree and 2 years full-time related work experience.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft products. (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint)
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
• Strong written communication and customer service skills.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Flexible and adaptable regarding learning and understanding modern technologies.
• Ability to walk, stand, kneel, crouch and lift boxes up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work on ladders.
• Occasional weekends required

Preferred:
• Experience providing technical support for higher education or business.
• In-depth and broad knowledge of computing technologies, audio/visual equipment, and audio/visual presentation and control systems.
• Familiarity with using asset and ticket-tracking software.
• Experience working with Crestron AV systems.
• Certifications in the audio-visual field.
• Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
• Experience working with and serving diverse populations.
