Our team of social media experts, photographers, videographers and student interns has worked, one post at a time, to implement a social network for SUNY New Paltz that has earned an exemplary reputation of engagement among our higher education peers.

Marketing & Advertising
The surest way SUNY New Paltz can continue to attract outstanding students and faculty is by building public recognition of our strengths. Paid advertising is an important component of our strategy to raise awareness of our excellent University.
The marketing and advertising team seeks to make intelligent, data-driven investments in results-oriented marketing campaigns on a limited budget. They analyze market research to determine the most cost-effective approaches to building awareness of the University, and work closely with budgetary staff, University administrators, academic departments and faculty, and media experts among the staff and student body, to develop innovative strategies for sharing the New Paltz story with new audiences.
Photography & Videography
Our audiences increasingly expect us to showcase the richness of University life through multimedia storytelling, and we endeavor to meet that expectation through attractive photos and video. In setting priorities for campus photography and videography, we take an audience-first approach, aiming to invest staff time and resources into projects that will appeal to broad audiences and support our marketing, recruitment and alumni engagement goals, among others. We deploy polished photography and video projects in a variety of media, especially the social media channels where our audiences increasingly give their attention. We also maintain an archive of thousands of photographs and hours of video footage and are happy to share these assets with campus partners for a range of projects.

Alumni Publications
SUNY New Paltz is proud to boast a strong network of thousands of alumni thriving internationally in numerous professions. It is a priority of our Office of Development & Alumni Relations to strengthen the ties that bind those who call New Paltz “alma mater.”
The Office of Communication & Marketing supports this effort through the publication of an online alumni newsletter, Connect, and the New Paltz Magazine. Both are richly reported and composed to appeal to our diverse alumni audiences. The magazine in particular is lavishly designed for print and digital audiences, complete with high-quality photography and other multimedia storytelling components.

SUNY New Paltz recognizes the importance of being proactive in distributing news and information about campus happenings, and takes seriously the institutional responsibility of responding when media professionals reach out to us. Building open, accommodating relationships with journalists offers benefits for the University and campus community, the news organizations and the public writ large.
The Media Relations staff is at the forefront of the University’s many interactions with journalists and news organizations in print, web, radio and TV broadcasting. Our team manages the crafting and distribution of official statements and news releases; publishes our internal campus newsletter, The Digest; assists faculty, staff and students in spreading awareness of their academic and professional achievements; and liaises directly with media figures to ensure that the University is appropriately recognized for its many valuable contributions to the region and beyond.
