Message from Chief Ritayik

On behalf of the men and women of the New York State University Police Department at SUNY New Paltz, we would like to welcome you to our website.

The University Police Department (UPD) provides the campus with a full-time, around the clock police agency composed of fully sworn service-oriented, professional police officers committed to the concept of community policing.  Community policing is a philosophy of becoming involved with the people we serve, building collaborative partnerships and working together as a team.  We are an accredited agency through New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services. This means that our policies and procedures adhere to the highest standards of law enforcement in the state. Read Cheif Ritayik's Full Message
